Zynn's Story . . .

Original:  “A laid-back love bug who craves attention, this girl is a sweet as they come.”

Zynn was a breeding dog from New Jersey who lived most of her life in an outside kennel. When her owner became ill, the family decided it would be best for her to find a new home through MAESSR.

Transition from kennel life to the house has been seamless for Zynn.  She is housetrained and will signal she has to go outside by walking to the door. She has full run of the house and can be trusted for up to 8 hours per day while her foster parents are at work.

Zinny Bee, as she is known in her foster home, has made herself very comfortable around the house. In fact, she already has a favorite recliner chair where she enjoys her morning, afternoon, and evening snooze. She has impeccable house manners with no inappropriate chewing, digging, counter-surfing, or begging from this little sweetie.

A laid-back love bug who craves attention, this girl is a sweet as they come. Zynn is well-behaved and content to lie by your side all day. She is a gentle soul who wants nothing more than belly rubs, chin scratches, and love.

For playtime, Zynn enjoys a nice game of fetch; however, there is a catch.  When her person throws the ball, Zynn will chase it, but her person has to fetch it and bring it back for her. Smart girl! Leisurely walks are also at the top of this girl’s list of fun things to do, and true to Springer form, Zynn gets very excited when she see the leash. Whether it is a walk around the development or a ride in the car, Zynn is always ready and up for the adventure.

A smart dog who is eager-to-please, Zynn is capable of learning things. She is working on her basic commands of “sit,” “come,” and “stay.”  Zynn does jump on her foster mom when she gets home from work, but has not attempted to jump up at anyone else. Zynn walks well on the leash but will pull if something catches her attention. She has a high prey drive and is always on the lookout for squirrels and rabbits.

Zynn loves meeting new people and does really well with adults. Tail wagging, Zynn waits patiently for her new friend to notice her, pet her, and say, “Hello.”  During a recent visit with her foster parents’ four-year-old granddaughter, Zynn growled to let everyone know she was uncomfortable around the little girl. Because she is not used to all the hustle and bustle that children bring, Zynn would be happiest in a home with no kids or older kids.

Zynn is doing well with the three resident Springers in her new home. She is not interested in playing with them but is slowly warming up and beginning to interact more. Zynn does not appreciate any of the dogs getting close to her water or food bowl and if one of the dogs gets too close, she will growl, bare her teeth, and back them up. The resident dogs are very respectful of Zynn’s space.
