Three years ago, we made the best decision in
deciding to adopt another ESS. Zoey then came to us and is the BEST dog
ever. She is not only beautiful but so well behaved and is loved by
everyone. We can't thank MAESSR and Debbie enough for giving us Zoey. Judy Minnick, NJ

Buster 14's Story . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________________
Original: “Buster is a sweet Velcro boy who follows his foster
parents everywhere when not playing with his littermate or chewing on his
favorite pig ear.”
Although it is rare for MAESSR to have puppies
for placement, Buster and his littermate Destiny Marie came into MAESSR’s care
when a Springer breeder in Maryland developed serious health problems and had
to rehome his dogs. Fostered together, these two active pups are growing and
learning by leaps and bounds!
Buster
is a sweet Velcro boy who follows his foster parents everywhere when not
playing with his littermate or chewing on his favorite pig ear. Since he is teething he really likes to
chew. Occasionally a shoe is found in
his mouth but he drops it when told “no” and he can be easily re-directed to a
proper chew toy from his toy basket.
Housetraining
is proceeding well through the use of pee pads.
Buster is also crate trained and he keeps his crate dry when his foster
parents leave the house. Good puppy! At night he sleeps in the master bedroom with
his foster parents where he used his pee pad if he needs it.
Buster
loves the outdoors, running and playing with his sister. He is very curious and sometimes walks down
to see the cows. He “talks” to his
foster parents about his adventures with a cute noise like a yawn!
A
real champ in the car, Buster has accrued about 500 miles of car riding since
coming into MAESSR’s care. He is a good
passenger riding shotgun in the front seat and sometimes moving to the back.
Buster
gets along well with the resident cat and ten year old Springer. He eats from
his own bowl inside or if it’s nice weather, outside on the porch.
Please
note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training
and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care,
attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a
puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious
commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR
requires all adopters of dogs one year old and younger to enroll their puppy in
two sets of obedience classes within 60 days of adoption. Buster is such a smart little boy that he
will be a star pupil.
