  •  Three years ago, we made the best decision in deciding to adopt another ESS.  Zoey then came to us and is the BEST dog ever.  She is not only beautiful but so well behaved and is loved by everyone. We can't thank MAESSR and Debbie enough for giving us Zoey.   Judy Minnick, NJ

Destiny Marie's Story . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Original:  “When not carrying around a stuffed animal, Destiny and her foster sister mutually groom each other contentedly, too.”

When a Maryland Springer breeder developed serious health problems, he contacted MAESSR to rehome his dogs.  Little Destiny Marie is one of these pups.

Very laid back yet shy, Destiny loves to cuddle with her foster dad whom she loves. She also loves the ten year old, resident female Springer and the two play happily together.  Destiny will even share her favorite stuffed toys with her older pal-- sometimes.  When not carrying around a stuffed animal, Destiny and her foster sister mutually groom each other contentedly.

Destiny is not quite housetrained on the pee pad method yet, and is taken outside on a regular basis to eliminate. Her foster dad hopes that Destiny will learn to signal as the older Springer does by swatting the door when she needs to go out.  Outside, she loves to chase birds and squirrels, sniffing the yard to pick up scent trails to follow.  If she spots a critter, she points by raising her left paw.  Smart girl!

This sweet puppy is also crate trained and is crated when her foster dad has to leave the house.  She sometimes sleeps in her open crate in the bedroom at night if she is not in bed with her foster family.

Destiny loves to ride in the car and just quietly rests enjoying the trip.  A road trip is coming up as she will visit new family members at Thanksgiving.  Since she is shy, she usually hides behind her foster dad initially but slowly warms up to her new friends.  It took about three visits with her foster father’s son before Destiny was really comfortable with him.  This baby sits on command which is great for meeting new people and for putting on her leash.

Please note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs one year old and younger to enroll their puppy in a series of obedience classes within 60 days of adoption. Destiny will be a star pupil!

Look into the stars to see if Destiny will be part of your future.  You will never regret making this puppy a part of your family.
