Three years ago, we made the best decision in
deciding to adopt another ESS. Zoey then came to us and is the BEST dog
ever. She is not only beautiful but so well behaved and is loved by
everyone. We can't thank MAESSR and Debbie enough for giving us Zoey. Judy Minnick, NJ

Demi's Story . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________________
Original: “Demi is happy, healthy bundle of adorable puppy energy!”
Sisters Demi and Davina became MAESSR pups when their
Maryland owner became ill and had to rehome the Springers in his breeding
kennel.
Demi is happy, healthy bundle of adorable puppy energy! She loves
to play with her littermate, racing around the fenced yard, tackling each other,
and starting the whole sequence again and again! Demi loves playing tug
with a squeaky toy and wrestling doggie bones from her sister. Then, she’ll be
tearing off to play catch me if you can. Curious and adventuresome, she
will explore new places inside and out, searching for treasures like stones,
leaves, or an occasional shoe. Learning to walk on a leash is a highlight
of her day with lots of new scents to sniff out and people to greet.
Demi spread plenty of puppy love at the vet for her second round of
shots. The staff fell in love with her!
This sweetheart also has been good in the bath. She does not mind having her ears cleaned or
her feet touched. Such a good girl!
This little girl is doing well on housetraining, too, with just a few accidents
in the house. To signal, she may go to
the top of the stairs or yip if she needs to go out. Calling “Demi come”
has her flying down the stairs to the door. Potential adopters
should note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to
training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot
of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The
decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted
dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all
adopters of dogs one year old and under to enroll their puppy in a series of
obedience classes within 60 days of adoption. Demi is a very smart little pup
and will be a good pupil. She already
rides nicely in the car.
Weekdays are spent playing and napping at her foster mom’s feet as she
works from home. Demi never strays too
far from her always needing to know where her people are. She spends short periods of time in her
exercise pen chewing on a bone or a toy until she is let out. Winding down to bedtime, she has
mastered the art of the snuggle cuddling with her foster parents before going
out one last time for the night. Up the steps she goes straight to the
crate to sleep, waking to a dry bed in the morning.
