Three years ago, we made the best decision in
deciding to adopt another ESS. Zoey then came to us and is the BEST dog
ever. She is not only beautiful but so well behaved and is loved by
everyone. We can't thank MAESSR and Debbie enough for giving us Zoey. Judy Minnick, NJ

Diez's Story . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________________
Original: “She is housetrained, walks well on a leash, and is an all-around sweetie.”
Diez was relinquished to a Virginia shelter for growling at the children in her family when she tried to take their food. She had always been a bit protective of food, but in the last year it had become worse. From the shelter, Diez went into MAESSR’s care.
Given a very thorough health exam by MAESSR's vet, Diez was found to have low thyroid levels. This can cause major grumpiness and a BIG hunger for food. She was started on an inexpensive, twice daily supplement that will continue for the rest of her life. Now she is not insanely hungry and has overcome her grumpiness. She was also started on an inexpensive medication to help with her anxiety. This has made her much more accepting of new situations. Her new family will be required to keep her on this medication for a minimum of six months after adoption.
Diez has been very well-behaved in her foster home. She is housetrained, walks well on a leash, and is an all-around sweetie. She absolutely adores playing outside and typically can be spotted carrying a toy around. If her foster parents need company when driving on an errand, Diez is glad to come along since she rides well in the car.
Her foster mom is recommending a forever home with no children under 16. There has not been any food possessiveness demonstrated by Diez in her foster home, but MAESSR would rather make sure it was not an issue.
This cuddly girl will make a loving addition to someone's home.
