Three years ago, we made the best decision in
deciding to adopt another ESS. Zoey then came to us and is the BEST dog
ever. She is not only beautiful but so well behaved and is loved by
everyone. We can't thank MAESSR and Debbie enough for giving us Zoey. Judy Minnick, NJ

Buddy 41's Story . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________________
As part of MAESSR’s Home for the Holidays program, Buddy’s adoption fee is being waived from October 1st through December 31st.
This is a wonderful opportunity to open your home and heart to a dog
that really needs you. Please consider him or another senior or
special-needs Springer today!!
Original: “Whoever said, ‘You can’t teach an old dog new tricks,’ has clearly never met Buddy 41!”
When Buddy’s New Jersey owner left for a nursing home, he lived with family members in a rental for about a year before being left tied to a fence when they moved. The rental owner found Buddy and suspected, because of a dog house and tie out, that Buddy had been living in a muddy yard. A friend bathed him, cut off his mats and called MAESSR for help
Whoever said, “You can’t teach and old dog new tricks” has clearly never met Buddy 41! He didn’t need much improvement when he came to his foster home; his manners were impeccable. Since being with his foster family he has quickly learned not to go upstairs, not to beg around the table and how to sit on his mat until he is asked to get up. Buddy is very keen to learn and please as well as being extremely loving and calm.
Although a crate is not used in his foster home, he was previously crated and apparently did not mind. No counter-surfing, bin dipping or toilet bowl drinking for this young 11 year old either.
Buddy has a very playful side to him, too. He fetches balls for throwing and loves a pull on his rope toys. He is not keen on water, but he is getting used to living near the beach and waterways where he enjoys his daily walks with his foster family’s nine year old Springer and does not pull on his leash.
This guy’s repertoire of commands is good. He knows “come,” “sit,” “lie down,” and “leave.”
MAESSR’s new senior is active for his age and would best fit a family who enjoys walks and has time to invest in him. The return on that investment would be immeasurable. Are you looking for a buddy to share your home, walks and playtime? With that full tail, he might even help rake the leaves!!
