Three years ago, we made the best decision in
deciding to adopt another ESS. Zoey then came to us and is the BEST dog
ever. She is not only beautiful but so well behaved and is loved by
everyone. We can't thank MAESSR and Debbie enough for giving us Zoey. Judy Minnick, NJ

Barney 6's Story . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________________
Original: “For fun, Barney LOVES to play with his tennis ball. He will return and release.”
When Barney was found as a stray in rural Virginia, he was a nasty, matted mess. The mats on his stomach and legs were two inches thick! Lucky for him, no one came looking for him and MAESSR stepped in planning to take this love of a Cocker as soon as his hold time was up. While he was waiting, a MAESSR volunteer went to the shelter to give him a shave down and a bath. He looked like a different dog and felt so much better!
Mr. Barney has to be one of the sweetest Cockers his foster mom has seen in a long time. He just loves attention and tolerates anything and everything. He was wonderful for his grooming, even when the helpful folks were cutting mats out of the pads of his feet. Although we will never know what happened in this guy’s life that he was living outside and not being loved, he is safe now as a MAESSR boy.
Amazingly, he is totally housetrained and hasn’t had one accident in his new surroundings. He eats his meals with the other four-legged creatures in his foster home and gets along with all. At night, Barney loves to sneak up on the bed with his foster parents. He will just cuddle up with them and sleep all night.
For fun, Barney LOVES to play with his tennis ball. He will return and release! The lucky, lucky fellow loves to go for rides in the car and also walks well on his leash.
Much remains to be discovered about this young man, but, so far, he is about as close to perfect a house guest as can be found! Keep an eye out if you are a Cocker fan—or if you’d like to become one—Barney will be looking for his forever home shortly. What fun he will be for some lucky family!!
