Three years ago, we made the best decision in
deciding to adopt another ESS. Zoey then came to us and is the BEST dog
ever. She is not only beautiful but so well behaved and is loved by
everyone. We can't thank MAESSR and Debbie enough for giving us Zoey. Judy Minnick, NJ

Ayra's Story . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________________
Original: “This little sweetie loves to cuddle, but also has plenty of energy.”
When a Maryland kennel decided to close, MAESSR stepped in to help in the placement of the dogs, including some Spanish Water Dogs. Baby Ayra was one of these.
Ayra was extremely frightened and anxious when she came into her foster home. Part of this was due to health issues. She was treated for a severe urinary tract infection, dual ear infections, and intestinal worms. Now, she is a very healthy young pup and is at ease in her new environment.
Once her health improved, Ayra started playing with all of the other dogs in her foster home, residents and fosters. It was like being in perpetual doggy daycare with so many canine playmates! As a result, Ayra is well-socialized with other dogs. She also loves people, especially children!
Although she arrived in MAESSR’s care already crate trained, Ayra is finally getting the idea about going potty outside. She walks well on the leash and enjoys getting out to see new sights and to sniff new scents. Little Ayra has the best time playing with toys, but she will occasionally chew on something she should not. So, she needs to be supervised. Living in a home rather than a kennel, Ayra is learning to like treats and different types of food.
Please note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs under 1 year old to enroll their puppy in obedience classes within 60 days of adoption. Ayra will be a good student!
This little sweetie loves to cuddle, but also has plenty of energy. Are you looking for an active puppy to raise to a well-adjusted, happy dog? Ayra may be the pup for you!
