In order to ensure the safety of our Springers and to guarantee our ability to reclaim them if necessary, MAESSR does not place dogs outside of the Mid-Atlantic area (Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, New York and New Jersey) except under very limited circumstances. If you do not live in the Mid-Atlantic Region and would like to contact a rescue coordinator in your area to find a local rescue and/or adoption opportunities, clickhere.
Due to the large volume of applications, it is necessary for MAESSR to institute a nonrefundable administrative fee of $15.00. You can pay by Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, PayPal or Check. To pay by check, complete the order as you would for any of the transactions. When you get to the end, you will select pay by check. You can then print the order and mail it with your check to to the address below. We hope that you understand the necessity of this action. Timeline for approval and adoption: Due to the high volume of applications we currently are receiving the approval process is taking 1 to 2 weeks. The number of dog coming into rescue has reduced dramatically over the last 10 years. If you seriously are interested in adopting a Senior over the age of 8, the timelines may be compressed.
All dogs will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. If for any reason, you are unable to continue to care for a dog adopted through MAESSR, the dog must be returned to us. No dog is to be turned into an SPCA, Humane Society, or other organization or given to any other person without the express consent of MAESSR.
When filling out the application, please include as much information as possible. Use the comments section to leave any information that will not fit in other areas, or that you feel will be helpful in finding the right Springer for your family.
