  • We got Boone from MAESSR when he was 6 years old. He was not dog-friendly and not good with young children, which presented some problems for us.  However, he loved us unconditionally, and he deserved the same from us. We introduced him to swimming.  He was hesitant at first, but he quickly became a water dog.  He loved car rides and just being with his people. We lost Boone very suddenly and unexpectedly on Sept. 11,2018 due to a bleeding tumor in his spleen. It was one month shy of his 13th birthday. He was great up until that last morning. There is a huge hole in our hearts that will never be filled. Even if we get another dog, there will never be another Boone.

Tinker's Story . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Original:
“Although Tinker was initially shy when he came to his foster home, he is quickly catching on to the GOOD things in life!”

Tinker was used by a Pennsylvania backyard breeder but was relinquished to MAESSR when he was no longer productive.

Although Tinker was initially shy when he came to his foster home, he is quickly catching on to the GOOD things in life!  Living inside as part of a family is much to his liking even though it means learning new inside behaviors.  Tinker is already crate trained and is in the process of being housetrained.  He does mark in the house but hopefully that will get better now that he is neutered.

A quick learner who loves to please his people, Tinker would be a good pupil in obedience classes with his forever family.  Right now he pulls on the leash so this skill needs work, too.  This handsome boy needs no work when it comes to riding in the car; he is a willing, well-behaved passenger.

If you like to cuddle with your best dog boy, Tinker is your man.  He is a sweetie!  Besides being good with people, Tinker is good with other dogs.  The verdict is still out on cats, though, since he has not met any while in his foster home.

It will take a while for Tinker's true potential to be realized, since he has to catch up on so many life experiences.  What a fun adventure that will be with a loving family to guide him!
