  •  Three years ago, we made the best decision in deciding to adopt another ESS.  Zoey then came to us and is the BEST dog ever.  She is not only beautiful but so well behaved and is loved by everyone. We can't thank MAESSR and Debbie enough for giving us Zoey.                                                                                                                                                                                                  Judy Minnick, NJ

Simon 7's Story . . .

Original:  “This youngster loves to play with all of the other dogs in his foster home.  He loves when they all wrestle, play chase, or just hang out.”

Simon came to MAESSR when his West Virginia family found him a little too much to handle with everything else in their lives.  In addition, Simon had experienced some swelling in his elbow and a definitive answer to the cause of the problem could not be found.  His family made the difficult decision that Simon might be happier with someone who had more time.
The problem with his elbow started with swelling and has not been completely diagnosed.  The vet recommended starting him on a joint supplement and crate rest.  X-rays showed he might have some elbow dysplasia.   A couple of months have gone by and Simon has shown no more symptoms of anything with his elbow.  MAESSR's vet took another set of x-rays which showed no progression.  The current recommendation is for Simon to be monitored for three more months before doing a comparison set of x-rays.
This youngster loves to play with all of the other dogs in his foster home.  He loves when they all wrestle, play chase, or just hang out.  He has shown a wonderful temperament with all of the other dogs.  He loves to play with toys....and STICKS.  Simon plays REALLY hard at his foster home and has not shown any elbow pain or swelling.
The new pup in the pack is housetrained and crate trained and knows “sit,” “stay,” and “here.”  He walks pretty well on the leash and rides well in the car although, if not crated, he wants to help drive.
This sweet boy likes to cuddle, and hang out with his people.   But, as a Springer baby, he does needs a fair amount of exercise.  MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things!  The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs one year old and younger to enroll their puppy in obedience classes within 60 days of adoption
Simon is a handsome love bug who, as a very young pup, is looking for a family who has the energy to play with a little guy and spend time helping him become the best Springer he can possibly be.  Soon the winter will be over, the singing birds will be here, and some happy family will have its very own puppy to train and enjoy.
