Siena's Story . . .
Original: “This girl has wonderful house manners and doesn’t do what those naughty younger pups do!”

Siena came to MAESSR when her Maryland owners could no longer afford the treatment for her Addison's disease.  They were heartbroken, but felt they needed to do what was best for Siena.
Siena is the most delightful little girl who enjoys a good cuddle.  She loves to be wherever her foster family is, doing whatever they happen to be doing.  Siena makes a great walking partner and would be just as happy hanging out on the couch.  Road trips are a must with this great companion.  Remember to grab her toys and she is ready to roll.  This girl has wonderful house manners and doesn’t do what those naughty younger pups do!
This great gal doesn’t mind her crate but of course would rather sleep in the bed with her foster parents.  While in bed, she maneuvers herself to get as close to her foster parents as possible.  No need for a fireplace or an extra blanket here!   Siena was great at the vet’s office and the groomers.  They all thought she was such a doll.
Siena has been diagnosed with canine Addison's disease.  This affliction affects the endocrine system and is treatable.
Click here for more about Addison's disease.  She has to get a Percorten shot every 30 days.  The shot can easily be given by her adoptive family. A bottle of Percorten V costs approximately $160. The bottle lasts for 4 shots. Siena is also on a low dose of prednisone. This is an inexpensive medication and she gets a pill every day. The total average cost of her medications per month is about $45. As long as Siena is maintained on her medication, she should have a normal life and normal life expectancy.
Please don't let the Addison’s diagnosis keep you from adopting a WONDERFUL dog!!! Siena is a perfect dog for any family and is ready for one of her very own.  How about letting this warm-hearted girl heat up your cold winter nights!
