Adopted Murdock in December 2006 when he was 10 Mos old. He has been the best boy ever! We just learned he has Lymphoma & are devasted. I can't imagine life without him & am hoping he responds well to treatment and lives many more months!!
I lost my best friend, Evie, a year ago September. I adopted her in 2006, she was 2 years old. That sweet girl was the love of my life and I miss her dearly. Thank you MAESSR for bringing that beautiful dog into my life.
Permanent Foster Dogs
What Determines a Permanent Foster?
Every year many older and/or very ill dogs are relinquished to MAESSR, and although some we can not save, many we can and will. These dogs frequently have an illness or condition that will shorten their life span by years. Although with special medical treatment and the tender love and care of special foster homes they are able to live out their remaining time in safety and comfort. These babies are very appreciative of their foster family's, and spread their love and doggie kisses whenever and wherever it is appreciated.
Occasional there will be a dog who just can not make it in the real world with out special attention. Perhaps they were too badly abused or in some cases not socialized as a puppy, so although they may be a perfectly okay dog in the foster home that has worked with them, helping them feel safe, moving them is not an option. MAESSR will provide a home for these dogs as long as needed.
Should you like to help with this long term care, any small donation would be greatly appreciated.
