    Miss Muffet's Story . . .
    ___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Update 03/17/2014:  “She's never made a mess in the house and has never helped herself to anything without it being offered to her first.  What terrific manners!"
Miss Muffet continues to be a sweet girl who loves to please her people.  With more practice, she has become a much better walking companion while on leash.  She still loves to ride in the car and she settles down nicely in the back seat while being chauffeured on outings.

Nicely housetrained, Miss Muffet will begin with a little whine when she wants to go outside.  If that doesn’t work, she will start using her paw to catch her foster mom’s attention.  She likes to go outside to explore; inside the house, Miss Muffet isn’t very interested in toys.  She’s a bit of a couch potato and just likes to hang out with her people.  When her foster mom is lying in bed watching TV, this little sweetie likes to join her and thinks that all the pillows were put there for her!

Miss Muffet is so trustworthy.  She’s never made a mess in the house and has never helped herself to anything without it being offered to her first.  What terrific manners!

Miss Muffet is hoping the Easter Bunny will be bringing her a forever home. Don’t wait too long to make this well-behaved, special girl a part of your family.

Update 02/05/2014:  “Looking for a special friend? This well-behaved sweetie is sure to be a joyful addition to a lucky family."
Miss Muffet returned to the vet for her final checkup following her foot surgery to remove a tumor.  With two thumbs up, her paw was pronounced successfully healed.  While there, Miss M also received a booster vaccine.  With her foot fully healed, she’ll be able to have a nice bath and should be ready for a forever home.

Leash training continues because this girl still likes to pull when walking, so she’ll need someone strong to help her learn proper leash manners.  Aside from that, Miss Muffet’s foster family declares her to be a real pleasure and an excellent houseguest.  They are certain that she will do great wherever she goes!

Looking for a special friend?  This well-behaved sweetie is sure to be a joyful addition to a lucky family.
Original:  “She turned out to be a wonderful traveling companion who barked to let her chauffeur know she needed a potty break!—what a girl!”

Miss Muffet was picked up on New Year’s Eve, 2013, in Ohio.  The shelter there asked if MAESSR could help out, and a volunteer quickly drove two hours (one way!) to rescue this sweet lady and provide her with a loving foster home.  She turned out to be a wonderful traveling companion who barked to let her chauffeur know she needed a potty break!—what a girl!

The new girl in town is very friendly and loves when company visits her foster home―she gets a lot of extra attention! She gets along with the two resident dachshunds and Springer puppy and does not chase or bark at the cat with whom she now finds herself living. Miss Muffet has her favorite sleeping spot—foster mom’s bed—but is otherwise content to lie on the couch (her tuffet) as long as she has a pillow!

This sweetie is completely housetrained and was only crated her first night in her new home.  No counter-surfing or trash diving, for this girl, and, instead of curds and whey, she prefers to chew on a rawhide treat.  She knows the commands “sit” and “shake.”  “Quiet,” however, is still a task to be mastered!  When mom puts on her coat to leave the house, Miss Muffet thinks she must go too and barks like crazy.  She is just so excited, she doesn’t seem to be listening!  She is the typical Velcro Springer and will follow her people from room to room so as not to miss anything.

Toys don’t seem to be her thing, even when she was exposed to the world of PetSmart!  While there, however, she did encounter several other dogs and was very cordial to them.  Leash walking is still a work in progress, but when she is out, Miss Muffet will wag her tail at children and let them pet her without a problem.

MAESSR’s new young lady will be a welcome addition to any home.  She seems to be comfortable with every situation, but since she really loves it outside, a fenced yard would be appreciated.  Miss Muffet has already traveled miles and miles and will soon be ready for her furever home—but, it must be spider-free!!
