Mia 4's Story . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Update 04/26/2018:  “She is being pampered and very well taken care of, getting to go for rides in the car (her favorite thing in the world) and cuddling with her people.”

Mia is doing well in foster care and enjoying the nicer weather. She recently had a mass cell tumor removed from her front foot;  it has healed nicely although she did have an episode a few weeks after the surgery and had to be hospitalized for a few days.   She is doing better now.

Unfortunately this senior has developed complications with her kidneys due to the Cushing’s disease and although she has been started on medications to help improve this condition, it is not a lot better. Due to the complications and her declining health, Miss M. has been made her a permanent foster and will continue live comfortably in her current foster home.

Mia is a sweet little girl who is taking everything in stride.  She is being pampered and very well taken care of, getting to go for rides in the car (her favorite thing in the world) and cuddling with her people.

Original:
"Mia has excellent house manners with no bad habits, other than wanting to get up on the sofa."

Mia had lived with her family in Maryland for the last nine years after being adopted from a breeder in North Carolina. She was well-loved, but her family found themselves traveling abroad for business almost half the year and they did not feel Mia was handling this very well and needed a more stable home in her golden years. It was a very hard decision for them to decide to rehome her at this time but they really felt it the best thing for her.  So, Mia became a MAESSR girl.

A sweet loving little girl, Mia is good with children of all ages, gets along with other dogs and cats and has never met a stranger. She just loves everyone!  Meeting and greeting people is her favorite activity as she is not a real active pup otherwise.

Her foster mom also boarded Mia when her family was away, and she can’t say enough nice things about this sweet Springer. Mia has excellent house manners with no bad habits, other than wanting to get up on the sofa. She will let her people know when she needs to go out by getting restless and going to the door or barking. Mia is not a big fan of the outdoors and will run out, do her business, and want to come back inside to be with her people.

Mia does love to ride in the car and walks very well on the leash. At night she sleeps on a dog bed in her foster mom’s room; during the day she is wherever her people are. Mia does not play with toys or other dogs, but is always up for loving, petting and cuddling.

Although she is not a resource guarder, Mia can be a little too quick to accept a treat.  She is a great floor cleaner when there are people around who drop food!  Such a helper dog!

Mia is good at the groomers, although has become a little protective of her feet lately. She is excellent for the vet and does not mind anything done to her like ear cleaning and brushing. In 2017, she was diagnosed with Cushings and is doing well on the meds.

This lovely lady needs a home where she will be loved, where life is quiet, and where her people are around a lot.  Traveling with her people would be a joy for her!   Mia would make a great companion for anyone!
