    Marley 7's Story . . .
Original:  “Marley is a sweet dog with a great spirit.  He is a shining star in his foster home.”
Marley is a gentle soul who is gradually settling in to his foster home after having been relinquished to a Pennsylvania shelter by his owners who could not afford to keep him.  Overwhelmed at the noisy, crowded shelter, Marley was glad to become a MAESSR boy and to be back in a home setting once more.
While shy at first, Marley is coming out of his shell and enjoying play time with the resident Springers.  He is a highly energetic dog who enjoys his
biscuits, chew toys and rawhides.  While he does have the run of the house, he also has a crate to which he will sometimes retreat for some quiet time.  He is housetrained and he indicates his need to go outside by positioning himself at the door.  Trustworthy, Marley has not demonstrated any tendency to chew or damage furniture in his foster home.
Marley does understand some basic commands and his foster mom continues to work with him to strengthen the skills.  He rides well in the car
although he is a bit restless in the initial few minutes of a drive.
Before Marley came into foster care, it was unknown how he behaved around cats.  He has passed the cat test with flying colors, showing no interest
in the cats at his foster home.  Good boy, Marley!  Another unknown is how he is with children.  Although he has not been exposed to children in his foster home to date, his foster mom plans to make some introductions soon with the neighbor children.
This handsome, healthy fieldy with a full tail currently weighs 54 pounds; however, his foster mom believes that by continuing with his current dietary
regimen of quality food, he stands to gain some weight.  Marley does have some interesting facial expressions and ticks that are still being interpreted.
Marley is a sweet dog with a great spirit.  He is a shining star in his foster home and continues to improve as his comfort level does.  His foster mom
will continue working with him and assessing him so watch for more updates.
