Three years ago, we made the best decision in
deciding to adopt another ESS. Zoey then came to us and is the BEST dog
ever. She is not only beautiful but so well behaved and is loved by
everyone. We can't thank MAESSR and Debbie enough for giving us Zoey. Judy Minnick, NJ

Luna 2's Story . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________________
Original: “Her foster family also has multiple resident dogs and Luna has integrated into the pack with no problem.”
Puppies—even Cocker Spaniel pups—sometime prove to have too much energy for their owners. Little Luna the Cocker is just as cute as she can be, but she was just too much for her North Carolina owner to handle. With the realization that she did not have the time and energy that a puppy needs, her owner relinquished this darling girl to MAESSR knowing a wonderful new home would be found for Luna.
Luna is acclimating nicely to her new living situation. Housetraining is going well and she is already crated trained, staying in her crate when her foster family is out—just as good as gold. She also sleeps in her crate at night and does not make a sound. Good girl, Luna! She has good house manners for a puppy also. She is too short for counter-surfing and she does not bother the trash. Luna only gets up on the couch when invited and she has already learned what things are appropriate for her to chew on.
Loving attention from people, Luna was a very big hit with the staff at the vet’s office and the vet loved her. She loves meeting new people and is thrilled to have so many new best friends; she loves everyone! Her foster family includes teenagers so that just multiplies the laps to sit on and the kisses she receives and gives. A cuddle bug, Luna loves being held. Her foster family also has multiple resident dogs and Luna has integrated into the pack with no problem. Having so many resident dogs to play with is GREAT! Luna has no resource guarding issues, either.
A smart little girl, Luna knows the command “crate” and responds immediately by running into it! “No” is another command that she knows, as most puppies learn quickly. She loves riding in the car and is a good little passenger, too. Please note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs under 1 year old to enroll their puppy in obedience classes within 60 days of adoption. Since she is so smart and eager to please, Luna will be a wonderful student.
Good things come in small packages and, after all, aren’t Cockers cousins to Springers? So, consider adopting sweet Luna and make this little love bug part of your family.
