  •  Three years ago, we made the best decision in deciding to adopt another ESS.  Zoey then came to us and is the BEST dog ever.  She is not only beautiful but so well behaved and is loved by everyone. We can't thank MAESSR and Debbie enough for giving us Zoey.                                                                                                                                                                                                  Judy Minnick, NJ

Jasper 9's Story . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Original:  “He loves to help his mom work in the yard and will follow her around to make sure she is doing everything right.”

Brothers Teddy and Jasper are former barn dogs (and/or breeder dogs) who made their way to a rescue in Pennsylvania.  MAESSR was asked for help, and, of course, said yes to these sweet, very shy boys.

The goal originally was to keep them together for placement.  Once they had been in the foster home for a while, it was obvious they were holding each other back.  So, the decision was made to separate them.  Both have done very well with the separation.

Jasper was extremely anxious and worried about everything.  He was initially started on a supplement to help with his anxiety.  The supplement was not enough so he was given a medication which has really helped his anxiety. His adoptive family will have to agree to keep him on this medication for a minimum of six months after adoption to help with the transition.

This handsome guy is housetrained, walks well on the leash and does not counter-surf—what a good fellow he is!   He is a little anxious in the car, but practice is making that better.

Jasper suffered from severe flea bite dermatitis, but following treatment, his skin is doing much better. In his pictures his ears are missing some of their hair from where he scratched them so much.  The hair is starting to grow back.

Jasper is loving the change to being a house dog.  He loves to help his mom work in the yard and will follow her around to make sure she is doing everything right.  He is a cuddle bug once he is comfortable with his folks and would love to be part of your household!
