Freckles 17's Story . . .

___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Original: “This beautiful liver and white Springer is looking for any family that can devote the love and care for a guy with some allergy issues but with an exceptional temperament.”

Freckles entered into MAESSR’s care from New Jersey when his owners could no longer afford his treatment for allergies.  Some early information about Freckles indicated that he was hit by a car when he was one and shattered his hip.  Upon the advice of their vet, the previous owners left the injury heal without treatment.  Luckily, at six Freckles shows no lingering effects from this incident and does not limp.  He is currently looking for fun-loving family to give him the love and understanding any fabulous Springer deserves.

Good with people, kids, and other dogs, Freckles also has lived happily with cats in the past.  He loves attention and has no behavioral issues.  Freckles didn’t mind being handled by the vets or the groomer.

Freckles walks well on leash. He is a little excited when the walks begin but eventually settles down. He is good in the car but does whine a bit in excitement since he knows he is going somewhere exciting.  During playtime, this guy enjoys toys, especially ones that squeak.  Although this love bug prefers his foster parents’ bed at night, he will sleep on a dog bed.

Housetrained, Freckles will whine if he needs to go outside and currently lives without a fenced yard in a townhouse.  This boy is great home alone and has free run of the house.  He is exceptionally well-behaved and does not get into or chew anything he shouldn’t.  He however HATES the crate. When crated, he gets very anxious and will hurt himself to get out. The groomer did not crate him; he is tethered off to the side.

When he came into foster care, Freckles had severe bilateral yeast and bacterial infections in his ears.  Now, his ears are in great shape!  Freckles also had a severe yeast and bacterial skin infection on his body.  He is finishing his third week of antibiotics and his skin looks great.  His previous vet felt that he may be suffering from seasonal allergies.

This beautiful liver and white Springer is looking for any family that can devote the love and care for a guy with some allergy issues but with an exceptional temperament.  Wow...what a great boy!  He is low-maintenance, loves to cuddle, go for walks, ride in cars, or take a nap...what more could you ask for?
