Digger's Story . . .
___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Original:  “Digger is very curious about everything.  He will be in the middle of whatever project his person is working on.”

Digger is a high energy, sweet Springer puppy.  He came to MAESSR because he was getting too possessive when there was human food around. He had snapped and grumbled at the kids in his Pennsylvania family and mom was afraid one of them was going to get hurt.  The family made the hard decision and called MAESSR.

Arriving at his foster home on a transport with another dog, Digger was that dog's shadow for several days.  As Digger was worried about everything, his foster mom worked with the vet to start him on an inexpensive medication for anxiety.  He will be required to stay on the medication for a minimum of three months after adoption.  The medication helped Digger tremendously and he is now running and playing with everyone.

Digger is housetrained and crate trained.  Sleeps in a crate at night but also like to sleep in the big bed with his foster parents for some extra loving.  This little fellow rides well in the car but is a little wild on the leash.  That is improving, happily.

Please note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs one year old and younger to enroll their puppy in obedience classes within 60 days of adoption.  Digger will be a star pupil!

Digger is very curious about everything.  He will be in the middle of whatever project his person is working on.  He is a very sweet good boy.  He has not shown any issue at all with food in his foster home.  Way to go, Digger!

The perfect home for this puppy is one that would have another dog that would allow Digger to snuggle with him and hopefully play with him.  This would help ease Digger’s anxiety—a must!  His forever family must have the time to keep this active boy exercised and tired, too.  And finally, they would have lots of love and snuggle time for him.
