    Dash's Story . . .
Original:  “He craves attention and adores snuggling with his foster mom, his canine foster brothers, or anyone else willing to share their space.”

When a Maryland breeder decided to close the kennel, MAESSR stepped in to help with the placement of the dogs.  Dash was one of the Springers who MAESSR is now placing.
Dash is a stunning young boy with a wonderful temperament.  He is a fun-loving, happy puppy who loves being in the house investigating each new sound.   He craves attention and adores snuggling with his foster mom, his canine foster brothers, or anyone else willing to share their space.
This handsome boy is learning about leash manners and will need obedience classes to learn acceptable house manners.  Dash watches the house dogs to understand appropriate behavior and he has learned “sit” and we are working on “come.”  Formal training will also deepen the bond with his forever family. Note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs one year old and younger to enroll their puppy in obedience classes within 60 days of adoption.  Little Dash will be required to take two series of classes.  He will be a quick learner!
Housetraining is a work in progress but Dash is catching on.  He feels extremely safe in his crate. When his foster mom isn’t home, Dash is crated and is content and quiet.  Curious about what is on the kitchen countertops and very food oriented, Dash has shown a propensity for counter-surfing so his foster mom is working on stopping this behavior.
This darling boy loves treats and toys, but would rather be sitting on the lap of his favorite person.  He does like to play wrestle with two of the younger resident dogs.   Although he has not had the opportunity to meet any children or cats yet, Dash is good with the four resident dogs, both male and female.
Dash was great for the groomer although he was a bit intimidated by the other dogs and the dryers.  He was also friendly and happy at the vet.  The vet thought he was a bit underweight but gaining some pounds won’t be a problem since he is highly food motivated but is not food possessive.  Now, he is happily gaining on good puppy kibble!
This little guy will soon be ready for his forever family.  Are you ready for the fun and responsibility of guiding Dash to happy, healthy adulthood?
